LAKEFEST is Russell County's longest-running Independence Day Celebration. Established in 1969, LAKEFEST is a time-honored tradition.  Join us on The Square for a downtown, down-home festival for the whole family!

What's a downtown festival without a full and eclectic Vendors Market?  Registration is now open for the 2021 LAKEFEST VENDORS MARKET. We welcome artisans, craftsmen, and merchants from all over Kentucky.

For more information about participating as a vendor, call us at City Hall! 270-343-4594

Mike Hill 10k/5k Run

The LAKEFEST Mike Hill 10k began in 1976 when Mike Hill, HK Cooper, and Bill Magruder worked to see that a race was included in the bicentennial celebration.  Mike Hill was an important part of our community life. He encouraged businesses and people throughout the community to get involved in the LAKEFEST celebration and in the  race.  It was known as the LAKEFEST 10k until Mike's untimely passing in 2007.  The race was then changed to the LAKEFEST Mike Hill 10k.  Since then, a 5k has been added.

This year will mark the 52nd anniversary of Jamestown's Independence Day Celebration and the 42nd running of the LAKEFEST 5K/10K. In 2018, we debuted a new racecourse. We think the new route makes for an even better running experience!

Registration is now open! Click the link below and be a part of history as you race for the J-Town Triple Crown!

LAKEFEST SATURDAY NIGHT CONCERT FEATURING JOHN ANDERSON

janderson-hanginon.jpeg

From the start, LAKEFEST has been about small town charm and home-grown folks celebrating the Fourth of July as a community.  The celebration has always involved good food, good fun, and it has always culminated with The Square full of families and friends enjoying some good music.  From that first Independence Day Celebration in 1969 until now, the LAKEFEST Saturday Night Concert has been a highlight of summer on Lake Cumberland.

For our 52nd Anniversary Celebration, we are thrilled to welcome concert headliner, John Anderson! It was important to us that the opening acts have ties to our community and to the history of this festival. We couldn't ask for a better lineup! This year's LAKEFEST Saturday Night Concert will be a night to remember!

John Anderson's website states:

After charting modestly in the late ‘70s, Anderson scored No. 1 hits in the ‘80s with “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” and “Black Sheep.” After a brief career lull, he staged a major comeback in 1992 as “Straight Tequila Night” became his first No. 1 single in nine years. That momentum carried him into the 2000s, giving him 60 charting country singles in four consecutive decades.

We are thrilled to welcome John Anderson as the headliner of LAKEFEST 2021! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and get ready for Jamestown's largest Concert on The Square!
